We measure key zones including the forehead width (distance across the temples), cheekbone width (the widest part of your upper face), jawline length, and total face length (from the hairline down to the chin). By comparing the ratio of face length to width, alongside the relative angles and widths of the jaw and forehead, the algorithm classifies your distinct geometry into standard anthropological categories.

Let us walk through a practical example. Suppose an individual measures their face length at 20 centimeters, cheekbone width at 15 centimeters, forehead width at 14.5 centimeters, and jawline length at 14 centimeters. First, the calculator computes the length-to-width ratio: 20 divided by 15 equals approximately 1.33. Because the length is moderately greater than the width, and the cheekbones are the widest part with a gently curved jawline, the algorithm successfully categorizes this face shape as an Oval.

For the most precise results, pull your hair completely back away from your face and stand directly in front of a mirror with your head level. Use a flexible soft tape measure rather than a rigid ruler, resting it flat against your skin without pressing into soft tissue. Always measure from the widest points of your bones rather than the fleshy outer edges to ensure your ratios reflect true skeletal geometry.
